Dr Ben Davies BSc. MBChB.(Hons) MPhil. MRCS is a Neurosurgical Resident and NIHR Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Cambridge, UK. He has a special interest in Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy a common, but little-known form of spinal cord injury caused by arthritis. Whilst estimated to affect 1 in 50 adults, few are ever diagnosed and those that are, often face life-changing disabilities due to delayed diagnosis and treatment. This led Dr Davies to co-found Myelopathy.org, an international DCM charity, and pursue efforts to increase awareness, including his podcast Myelopathy Matters (https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/myelopathy-matters). Professionally, Davies’ also co-leads the AO Spine RECODE DCM Project (aospine.org/recode), NIHR RECEDE Myelopathy, a regenerative medicine trial, and NIHR POLYFIX DCM, an international surgical trial and has founded MoveMed.io, a start-up creating digital biomarkers for neuromuscular disease.[p] and co-leads the AO Spine RECODE DCM Project, NIHR RECEDE Myelopathy, a regenerative medicine trial, and NIHR POLYFIX DCM, an international RCT of laminectomy versus laminectomy and fusion. He is a member of the AO Spine, Spinal Cord Injury Knowledge forum, co-founder of Myelopathy.org, an international DCM charity, and a founder of MoveMed.io, a start-up creating digital biomarkers for neuromuscular disease.[p]
