It's important to know your "change-your-state" things, for a lot of people, it could be music, it could be meditation, it could be phoning a friend, it could be just moving your body. And if you have that list of things that you know will make you feel better than when you are feeling sort of sluggish or depressed or sad then you don't have to be this sort of slave to your mood, you can say, "Well, I have this list of five things that I know will make me feel better and let me do them” and you feel more in control.
