Countless people have experienced life without ever knowing at least one parent; without knowing the length and number of all the branches, and the depth of the roots of their family trees. For many of us, at best it's a nagging question in the backs of our minds, at worst, a desperate need to know that can lead us to question our own identity, our own existence.
