In the Season 1 finale of Disgruntled, Bailey and Gill start with stolen wind chimes, aggressive keyboard typing, a feud between a grown adult and a seven-year-old, and the tragic passing of Jimmy’s queen ant. You know, normal podcast material.

But somewhere between the petty complaints and questionable advice, things get a little deeper.

Episode 51: Bailey and Gill’s Surprises

Bailey and Gill came to Episode 50 with one rule: they each had a surprise for the other. Unfortunately, Gill’s surprise involved a U-Haul, a bungee cord, and a direct hit to the face.

While Gill reveals the injury that left half her face covered, Bailey drops some major life news of his own: he and Jimmy are selling their house and moving. That means leaving behind a home they love, cutting down an exhausting commute, packing an unreasonable amount of heavy furniture, and trusting that sometimes the right decision can still be a hard one.

Then Bailey files a complaint against the car dealership that somehow managed to keep his car for hours, “fix” it, and return it with the exact same problem. Naturally.

But this week’s listener complaints take the episode somewhere deeper.

Megan from Albuquerque is tired of being the person standing in her own way, watching people with half the preparation walk confidently into opportunities she’s been too afraid to pursue. Trevor from Georgia has the opposite complaint: he’s done shrinking his accomplishments to make other people comfortable.
