Founder's Notes: A New Way for Podcasters to Earn with Podsafe AI Music

By Bruce Chamoff, Founder, World Podcast Network

Podcasters, I have some exciting news to share. At World Podcast Network, we're testing a new opportunity that brings music creators and podcast hosts together: podsafe AI music that can help podcasters earn money by featuring it in their episodes.

Music has always been a powerful part of podcasting. The right track can set the tone for an introduction, make a transition memorable, or give listeners something new to discover. But finding music that is cleared for podcast use—and finding ways to earn from playing it—hasn't always been straightforward.

That's what we're working to change.

What Does Podsafe AI Music Mean?

Podsafe music is music made available for use in podcasts with the appropriate permissions. For this initiative, World Podcast Network is developing a permissioned selection of AI-created music for participating podcasters. The goal is to give hosts confidence about what they can play, while opening a new path to revenue.

Permission matters. Just because a song was generated with AI does not automatically mean anyone can distribute or monetize it. Our approach is to make permission and authorized use central to the program.

More Than Background Music

Imagine introducing listeners to a new song during your episode, discussing the artist or the story behind the track, and potentially earning money for participating in the program. This could be a natural fit for music shows, interviews, entertainment podcasts, and hosts who want to add something fresh to their episodes.

We're especially interested in making this useful for independent podcasters. You shouldn't need a massive audience to explore creative ways to make your show more valuable.

We're Testing the Experience

This is a new page and a new initiative we're actively testing. We'll be refining how podcasters discover permissioned tracks, understand usage conditions, and participate in any available earning opportunities. Specific eligibility, payment terms, and participation requirements will be communicated as the program develops. Earnings are not guaranteed.

For now, I want podcasters to know where we're headed: World Podcast Network wants to make it easier to feature exciting AI music with permission and create additional earning opportunities for podcast hosts.

I'll share more as our testing continues. Thank you for being part of the World Podcast Network community and for helping us explore what's next for podcasting.
