Generation X Paranormal

The Haunted Aurora Brothel: Ghosts, EVPs & Dark Secrets of Missouri's 1890s Mining Town

This week on Generation X Paranormal, Logan and Nicole head to Aurora, Missouri, to investigate one of the town's most intriguing historic locations: the Aurora Brothel.

Located near the historic railroad depot in what was once a booming Missouri mining town, this massive 19th-century building has a complicated past involving saloons, gambling, hotels, businesses, and the people who lived and worked in Aurora during its mining boom. Local history says the building was once a brothel, but our research uncovered a much more complicated story.

Before the investigation even begins, Logan experiences a strong impression of a woman dressed in purple. Once inside, the team encounters reports of shadow figures, unexplained voices, strange activity, and a particularly disturbing presence in the basement.

Then things get really interesting.

During the investigation, we capture an EVP that appears to validate something Logan heard directly in his ear. We also receive responses about the building, its occupants, the rooms upstairs, and what one spirit claims happened there.

Our historical research takes us back to the 1890s and the tragic story of Nora Henry, a woman who died after taking an overdose of morphine in a building directly across the street from the Aurora Brothel. Using historic newspapers and Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, we trace the changing history of the buildings surrounding the location and examine what we can—and cannot—actually prove about Aurora's brothel history.

Was this really a brothel?

Who were the people who lived and worked here?

Could the spirits still connected to this building be tied to its 19th-century history?

And what exactly did we capture on our recorders?

Join us for one of our most fascinating investigations yet as we explore the Aurora Brothel in Aurora, Missouri, its dark history, unexplained activity, and the EVPs captured inside this historic building.

This is Generation X Paranormal — where curiosity meets the unexplained, and the paranormal gets personal.

and Philip Cryer of Off Beat by Design to talk about one of the biggest needs in the paranormal community: custom merchandise.

Off Beat by Design specializes in creating custom merchandise for paranormal teams, investigators, podcasters, creators and fans — including T-shirts, hoodies, hats, stickers, window decals, koozies and more.

But this isn't simply a conversation about printing T-shirts.

Amanda and Philip explain how they recognized a problem facing smaller paranormal teams: getting professional merchandise can be difficult when traditional vendors require large minimum orders or offer little opportunity for truly customized designs.

Off Beat by Design was created to help solve that problem.

A large portion of their work consists of custom orders, allowing paranormal teams and creators to develop merchandise that actually represents who they are rather than settling for generic designs.

We talk about their design process, the importance of quality, creating merchandise around a team's identity, and how Off Beat by Design is helping make custom paranormal merchandise more accessible.

They've also developed a unique model that allows individual paranormal teams and creators to have merchandise available to their own audiences while Off Beat by Design handles production and fulfillment.

And Logan and Nicole have firsthand experience with the finished product — the Generation X Paranormal shirts we're wearing during this episode were designed and produced by Amanda and Philip.

We'll also get into the origins of Offbeat Paranormal, their passion for ghosts, cryptids, UFOs and high strangeness, and the community that brought all of these interests together.

If you're looking for custom paranormal merchandise, paranormal team shirts, podcast merchandise, custom T-shirts, stickers, hoodies, hats or branded merchandise for your paranormal business or team, this conversation is for you.

Generation X Paranormal explores haunted locations, UFOs, cryptids, high strangeness, folklore, and the unexplained—one story at a time.

What happens when the dead seem to find a way to answer back?

On this episode of Generation X Paranormal, Logan and Nicole sit down with paranormal investigator, researcher, author, and founder of Elk Valley Paranormal, Cyn Shrader Hill, for an unforgettable conversation about Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVPs), haunted locations, paranormal investigation, spirits, and signs from beyond.

Cyn has spent years investigating paranormal activity and documenting EVPs, and she shares some of her most compelling experiences—including a deeply personal EVP connected to her nephew Wyatt. During the conversation, Cyn plays the recording and explains why she believes it was a personal message from someone she loved.

We talk about what makes an EVP convincing, why investigators have to be careful about hearing what they expect to hear, and why some of the most compelling evidence can come from surprisingly simple recording equipment. Cyn also explains why your own senses may be one of the most important tools you have during a paranormal investigation.

Cyn takes us inside some of her most memorable investigations, including an old hospital in Tennessee that she describes as one of the most haunted places she has ever encountered. She discusses unexplained activity, a mysterious "true orb," and something else moving through the location that investigators captured on video.

We also explore:

• The difference between compelling EVPs and questionable recordings
• Paranormal investigation equipment and digital recorders
• Why cell phones can sometimes capture extraordinary evidence
• Spirits that communicate, joke, become irritated, or simply want investigators to leave
• Paranormal experiences involving family members after death
• Faith, grief, and the possibility of communication after death
• Cyn's journey from paranormal investigator to author
• Her books and years of paranormal research
• Why investigators should move beyond the standard questions during an investigation
• Some of the most unusual experiences Cyn has encountered throughout her career

This is a conversation about evidence, experiences, grief, curiosity, and the possibility that death may not be the end of communication.

Listen closely. Some of the most compelling moments in this episode aren't stories about paranormal activity—they're the moments when the unexplained seems to answer back.

Generation X Paranormal explores haunted locations, UFOs, cryptids, high strangeness, folklore, and the unexplained—one story at a time.

This week on Generation X Paranormal, Logan and Nicole investigate Whispers Estate in Mitchell, Indiana — and this may be one of the most unsettling investigations we've ever recorded.

We were invited to Whispers Estate by Chris and Ana of AC Ghosthunters, and were joined by The Mysterious Mike and Sam for an investigation that produced some truly remarkable paranormal evidence.

And this episode contains one of the most compelling and frightening Estes Sessions we've ever experienced.

Whispers Estate is a historic Victorian home with a dark reputation. Reports surrounding the location include disembodied voices, shadow figures, phantom smells, unexplained noises, physical sensations, slamming doors, moving recording equipment, and other unexplained activity.

Our investigation begins in the former doctor's office and surgery room, where we receive intriguing responses involving patients, illness, surgery and death. Logan also experiences a strange physical sensation and an unexplained smell that seems to appear from nowhere.

Upstairs, a mysterious closet produces an unusually clear EVP: "Don't mess with me."

In Rachel's Room, we capture a bizarre light anomaly that appears to materialize above the bed, move rapidly across the room and disappear.

Then the Red Room delivers a massive unexplained bang, strange physical sensations and responses about someone being pulled from the bed.

But the investigation takes a much darker turn when our paranormal sessions begin producing responses involving Dr. John Gibbons, death, murder, babies, graves and alleged human remains.

The most compelling evidence comes during our Estes Session, where the responses become increasingly specific and disturbing.

What's particularly strange is that Logan entered the investigation intentionally avoiding the reported paranormal history of Whispers Estate. Some of the questions he felt compelled to ask later appeared to correspond with information provided by the estate.

After the investigation, we went back through the history and discovered that some of the most famous stories surrounding Whispers Estate — including the stories of Rachel and Elizabeth — may not line up perfectly with the documented historical record.

So what actually happened inside Whispers Estate?

Were we communicating with spirits connected to the house?

Was the Estes Session actually giving us information from someone who knew its history?

Or are there other explanations for what we captured?

Listen closely and decide for yourself.

Is Bigfoot really a flesh-and-blood creature...or are we looking at something far stranger?

This week on Generation X Paranormal, Logan and Nicole sit down with filmmaker, researcher, and author Ronald C. Meyer to explore one of the most fascinating conversations we've ever had about Sasquatch.

Ron shares decades of paranormal experiences, including out-of-body experiences, non-dual consciousness, time slips, and the mysterious events surrounding Bradshaw Ranch. We also dive deep into his groundbreaking CE6 Protocol, a meditation and frequency-based experiment that has produced strange audio recordings, unexplained phenomena, and possible Bigfoot vocalizations.

We discuss:

• Is Bigfoot interdimensional?
• The connection between Bigfoot, UFOs, and consciousness
• Bradshaw Ranch and unexplained time slips
• The CE6 Protocol and why chanting may matter
• Sierra Sounds and Bigfoot vocalizations
• High Strangeness and the Control Hypothesis
• Frequencies, meditation, and paranormal research
• Ron's new book, The High Strangeness of Bigfoot

Whether you're a skeptic, believer, or simply fascinated by the unknown, this conversation challenges many of the traditional ideas surrounding Sasquatch.

Guest: Ronald C. Meyer

A Note About Ron C. Meyer

Since the original release of this episode, Ron C. Meyer has sadly passed away.

Nicole and I were honored to have the opportunity to speak with Ron and spend some time getting to know him. Although our time with him was brief, we are incredibly grateful that we had the chance to have this conversation with him.

We are leaving this episode available as a way to remember Ron and share his story in his own words.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ron's family, friends, and everyone who knew and loved him.
