This week on Next Take Podcast, Canada’s own Mikel, Tanyka, and RJ examine the tragic story of Skylar Neese—a case of friendship, betrayal, and murder that shocked a community and captured national attention.

In July 2012, 16-year-old Skylar Neese disappeared after secretly leaving her home in Star City, West Virginia, to meet two of her closest friends, Shelia Eddy and Rachel Shoaf. What initially appeared to be a troubling missing-person case eventually revealed an unimaginable betrayal: the two friends Skylar trusted had planned and carried out her murder. For months, Eddy and Shoaf maintained a false account of what happened that night. The case finally broke when Shoaf confessed and implicated Eddy. Shoaf pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and received a 30-year prison sentence, while Eddy pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison.

This week on Next Take Podcast, Canada’s own Mikel and RJ discuss Xbox’s shift from disc to digital, the latest GTA 6Netflix trailer, and the biggest announcements from PlayStation’s September 2026 State of Play.

Xbox is giving physical game collectors a new way to take their libraries into the digital era. The company’s new Disc-to-Digital feature allows players to insert supported Xbox One or Xbox Series X game discs and claim digital access to those titles.The feature is currently being tested through the Xbox Insider Program and already supports thousands of games, with Xbox planning to expand compatibility over time. Once a supported game is recognized, players can enjoy digital benefits such as playing without leaving the disc in the console, along with Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming on eligible titles. Rockstar Games took an unconventional approach to its latest GTA 6 reveal, teaming up with Netflix to give subscribers the first look at an extended presentation for Grand Theft Auto VI. The nearly 27-minute showcase offered fans a much deeper look at the highly anticipated game, using footage captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5. The Netflix-first premiere also turned a video game trailer into something closer to a major streaming event, showing just how massive the anticipation surrounding GTA 6 has become. With Jason and Lucia at the center of the story and the state of Leonida providing the backdrop, the extended look gave players their clearest preview yet of Rockstar's next open-world blockbuster ahead of its November 19, 2026 release. Sony brought plenty of surprises to its September 2026 PlayStation State of Play, delivering new game reveals, major updates, release dates and fresh gameplay from upcoming PS5 titles. The presentation, followed by a special State of Play Japan broadcast, featured more than 30 games from developers around the world. Among the biggest highlights were an extended look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation, which is officially launching April 8, 2027, new details on Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, updates for Gran Turismo 7 and Saros, and a January release window for Until Dawn 2. PlayStation also unveiled two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense controllers inspired by Vice City. U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F.
